It will particularly develop us in these areas:
-Independent close reading of complex texts
-Having a deep understanding of a range of subject matter
-Using and evaluating evidence to understand and create reasoned arguments
-Having critical and strategic use of technology
-Having a deeper understanding of other perspectives and cultures
Today we discussed that reading is an active, problem solving process where at times we have to read closely to analyze the text, draw evidence and learn new vocabulary.
We then discussed that complex text can better understood by close reading, rereading and by looking for evidence. We compared it to being a forensic scientist. It was funny because we got some crazy ideas!
