Today was the first day of the Dare to Make a Choice program or as we like to call it CHOICE. This is part of our inquiry for term 4. We had Constable Julie come into class, she asked us what we already knew about drugs, and we talked about what we would like to learn to improve our knowledge of drugs. We also talked about us! We discussed the benefits of being our age, and also filled out a sheet with the alphabet on it. We had to come up with 2 words that described why we loved being our age for each letter of the alphabet. Then we talked about the things that make us unique and the things we enjoy doing in our spare time. At the end of the session she gave us a few quotes to write into our words of wisdom page in our inquiry book, this part was my favourite. The quotes were about learning and how mistakes can be our teachers. She inspired me to put my hand up in class and be more involved. I can't wait till the next session!
The words of wisdom for the day:
-Learning is not a spectator sport you need to participate in the "game of life".
- What you put into life is what you get out of it.
-It is ok to make mistakes, they help us to learn.
-A person who asks a question may be a fool for 5 minutes, but a person who doesn't may be a fool forever.
