Day of the Dead Printmaking

In Room 24 we have been having a fantastic time printmaking. We have used the Day of the Dead celebration as our motivation. We researched it and spent a lot of time looking at the Day of the Dead masks. We loved the colour and sense of fun about them. For this print we used printing foam to carve out. We are aiming to do a 3 colour print so after printing each colour we will carve away a little more. These are some photos of the first prints. There will be more to come. Feel free to come in and have a look too...our class looks like an art room! You will also see some students making some backgrounds for their work to frame them. It is all go here!
