D.A.R.E Update

Yesterday we had our third D.A.R.E session with Constable Julie. We focused on expanding our knowledge on legal and illegal drugs within New Zealand. The World Health Organization defines a drug as "any chemical substance which alters the way a persons body or mind works. This does not include food, air and liquid which our bodies need to work properly. We had a competition where we had a list of drugs and we had to decide wether they were legal or not legel. Once we were finished Constable Julie told us what drugs were legal and illegal and who ever had the most right won. It was a very interesting game, and by the end of it we had all learnt a lot about illegal and legal drugs. For example V, and gin are legal drugs whereas magic mushrooms, and Canabis oil are illegal. Many of us have made mistakes but to quote: "A person who asks a question may be a fool for 5 minutes, but a person who dosen't may be a fool forever." In other words if you don't fail, you don't learn.
